CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
At Lakes, we believe that it is primarily the responsibility of the parents to shepherd and train their children in the Gospel. With that in mind, we are committed to assisting parents in seeking to direct the hearts of every child toward God and cultivate a spirit which is responsive to Him.
Through each of our classes and activities we strive to create a fun and caring environment where your child will feel safe and receive affirmation. Furthermore, we provide on-going training for all of our volunteers, educating them about our policies for reducing the risk of child abuse.
Please see the description below of the various age appropriate training and activities available for your children.
Nursery
We offer a nursery for infants through 2 yrs. old during every Sunday service. We have a caring group of women who commit time to offer the highest level of care for our children. We also offer two separate rooms for our children. The infant and crawler nursery is in one room and the walker up through 2 yr. olds is in a different room.
Preschool
Classes that strategically blend a time of learning, games, singing and more are available for children 3-4yrs. old during both morning services.
Kindergarten – 5th Grades
We have a variety of programs offered for our grade school children throughout the year. You can see a brief description below, and view a more detailed listing in the linked pages.
Music Makers
During the 11am service our elementary age children gather in the fellowship room in th lower level. Here the children are given basic music knowledge as well as rehearse for programs throughout the year.
Sunday School
Age distinct classes meet in the lower level at 10:45am. The strategic offering of the Generations of Grace curriculum provides a foundational development in the knowledge of Scripture.
CrossWatchers
At Lakes, we believe the elementary years are a crucial time in the spiritual development of our children. CrossWatchers is a program for children designed to help them develop a biblical worldview that stands in contrast to much of the teaching they receive from the culture.
Hiding God’s words in hearts through Scripture memory is a focus, along with age-appropriate teaching from the Bible intended both for those who are familiar with church and those who are not.
