YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
The late teen and college years can often prove very challenging. Young people are challenged to think, search for relationships, and make difficult life decisions. At Lakes, we understand this and desire to provide an environment where young people can not only have relationships and encourage one another during these years, but also understand that God’s Word is rich and truly has the answers “…to all things that pertain to life and godliness…” (2 Peter 1:3).
Bible Study
The young adult class currently meets on Sunday evenings in homes of the participants. Please contact Mike Zielinski for a list of the upcoming meeting times.
Service Opportunities
Perhaps one of the most unique opportunities available to college aged students is that of service. At Lakes we believe that students have been given abilities to serve the church. We seek to place our young adults in areas of service, leadership and mentorship in children’s programs, teen programs and various other areas. The first step of involvement is joining the local church in membership. Watch the calendar for the next membership class. Already a member? Contact Mike Zielinski to find an area of service.
Activities
During the course of the year, the college group will get together for various activities. Holidays prove to be an excellent time to gather for a party, such as Christmas or Halloween. Or maybe it is group skating, bowling, or just gathering up at the coffee shop to play cards. Whatever it may be, if you are looking for a group of peers to both be encouraged and to encourage, Lakes may be the place for you. The group also has an annual summer retreat at a private cabin in Northern Michigan filled with bonding, group Bible studies, tubing, kayaking, and more.
