Youth Ministry

Lakes Bible Church Youth Community Choir Music Teachers Katherine Beattie and Belinda Moor
At Lakes, our hearts are to come alongside you - not to replace the spiritual foundation you’re building at home, but to support and strengthen it. All our youth leaders exist to enhance, not replace it. Our heart is to care for our team and students and encourage you throughout these years with the gospel truth. We hope to foster a youth group where the teens own their faith, embodying a life characterized by four key principles: Christ, Clarity, Conviction, and Confidence (Romans 1:16-17).

We would love for your student to be part of what God is doing in our youth ministry, and we’re excited about the journey ahead together at Lakes.

Gospel Centrality in Teaching
Through our Sunday school and youth group nights, we aim to build up our teens in three key areas: Bible Core, Bible Proficiency, and Bible Formation. We want our teens to understand the great story of redemption throughout the whole story of the Bible; additionally, we want them to engage with the Word of God on a personal level; lastly, we aim to encourage them not only to know the facts or to know how to read the Bible, but to live a life that reflects the gospel (Phil 1:27; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 3:18).

Gospel Centrality in Events
The goal of our youth events is to encourage one another and foster unity among the teens (Rom. 15:7; 1 Cor. 12:25; Gal 6:2). We want our teens to get to know each other and build lasting relationships centered around our common unity of the gospel. We host youth retreats, park days, cola wars, and other activities. These events are opportunities for us to build gospel relationships. We care about our students and want to disciple them in the gospel by being intentional in their lives.

Gospel Centrality in Outreach
Our heart is to reach beyond ourselves and show and proclaim Christ in our words and actions. We encourage them to be witnesses to their friends and school. We want to provide students with the opportunity to engage in service activities within our community, schools, and church. We desire to show them that the gospel changes our lives from a "me-centered" view to an "others-centered" heart. Additionally, we aim to teach them the gospel and how to share their faith effectively. We organize mission trips and have youth group nights focused on the gospel. (Part of youth group nights is that we can be a gospel witness by bringing unsaved friends) (Matt 5:13-16; 28:18-20).
