At Lakes, we welcome people of all ages, races and nationalities. No matter what place you find yourself in life, here you will come to understand that God has created you for a purpose – to be with Him forever. We invite you to join our congregation and find the joy of learning, worshipping, and serving together.
What to Expect
As the services begin you will find greeters in the lobby to welcome you and help you find the right place for your children. Because of our identical two-service format, there is plenty of seating available. Sit wherever you like, there aren’t any reserved seats. (Though occasionally the ushers will reserve a pew or two when necessary for special events).
During the Praise and Worship segment which starts the service, songs are displayed clearly onto a projection screen making it easy for you to follow along. First-time guests are never singled out or embarrassed. If you choose, you may fill out a visitor information card from the chair in front of your seat, or from the welcome packet you received upon your entrance. Our Pastor always greets on the way out of the lobby, so this provides an opportunity to meet Don and Ann.
Sunday-Worship For Children
We offer programs and child care for all ages of children during both services. We have gifted, caring adult teachers and helpers who are committed to assisting parents in training their children toward godliness. All of our children’s staff have gone through background checks through the police department to ensure the best care for your children.
When are your services?
We gather every Sunday moring for worship at 9am & 10:45am. We also gather on Sunday evening at 6pm. There are Wednesday evening activities for all ages starting at 6:30am
Where are you located?
309 Decker Rd
Walled Lake, MI
We are on Decker Rd. between 14 & 15 mile (Maple) Rds. – just north of 14 mile. Walled Lake is a far north-west suburb of metro Detroit.
What Should I Wear?
On a Sunday morning as you look around our sanctuary, you will find quite the variety in attire! Women wear a range of styles from casual to more dressy. Some men wear jeans, many others wear khakis or other “business casual” attire, and others wear a shirt and tie.
I Have Children—What Is There for Them?
Nursery is available during all services for children through age 2. Classes are available all services for children ages 3 – 5th grade. Our teen youth group begins at 6th grade and meets Wed. and Sun. nights, attends the 9am service on Sunday and has Sunday School at 10:45.
What Version of the Bible Do You Use?
Currently, we read from the ESV in our services, while teachers use a variety, including the NIV and ESV. We believe right now this is the best choice for our body and visitors.
